All the bold flavors of a Big Mac packed into a comforting casserole, this dish features seasoned beef, gooey cheese, creamy dressing, tangy pickles, and golden tater tots. A crowd-pleaser for any occasion.
1½ lbs ground beef (80/20)
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
1 cup Thousand Island dressing
¾ cup dill pickles, chopped and divided
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until browned. Drain fat.
Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir in 1 cup Thousand Island dressing and half the pickles. Simmer 2–3 minutes.
Spread the meat mixture into the dish and top with 1½ cups shredded cheese.
Arrange tater tots in a single layer over the top.
Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until tots are crisp and cheese is bubbling.
Top with remaining pickles, a drizzle of dressing, and remaining cheese. Add sesame seeds if using. Return to oven for 5 minutes.
Let sit for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
