This cheesy chicken bake combines tender chicken breasts with a rich pesto cream sauce and layers of melty mozzarella and Parmesan for a hearty, one-pan meal.
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
3/4 cup basil pesto
1/2 cup heavy cream
3 oz cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella
1/4 cup grated Parmesan
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Optional: red pepper flakes, fresh basil for garnish
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Season both sides of the chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Place chicken in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
Mix pesto, cream, and cream cheese until fairly smooth.
Pour the sauce over the chicken evenly.
Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan over the top.
Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes, until cheese is golden and chicken is cooked through.
Optional: broil for 2–3 minutes for extra browning.
Let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with basil if desired.
