A quick and delicious beef and broccoli stir-fry in a savory garlic-soy sauce — better than takeout and ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced

  • 3 cups broccoli florets

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (for marinade)

  • 1 tsp cornstarch (for marinade)

  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil (for marinade)

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated

Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tsp cornstarch

  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water

Instructions

  • Marinate beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil for 10–15 minutes.

  • Mix sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside.

  • Blanch broccoli for 2 minutes, then cool in ice water. Drain well.

  • Heat oil in skillet over medium-high heat. Sear beef in batches and remove.

  • Sauté garlic and ginger briefly. Add beef, broccoli, and sauce.

  • Stir-fry until sauce thickens and everything is coated, about 2–3 minutes.

  • Serve hot over rice or noodles.
