A quick and delicious beef and broccoli stir-fry in a savory garlic-soy sauce — better than takeout and ready in under 30 minutes.
1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
3 cups broccoli florets
1 tbsp soy sauce (for marinade)
1 tsp cornstarch (for marinade)
1/2 tsp sesame oil (for marinade)
1 tbsp vegetable oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
Sauce:
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp cornstarch
1/2 cup beef broth or water
Marinate beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil for 10–15 minutes.
Mix sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
Blanch broccoli for 2 minutes, then cool in ice water. Drain well.
Heat oil in skillet over medium-high heat. Sear beef in batches and remove.
Sauté garlic and ginger briefly. Add beef, broccoli, and sauce.
Stir-fry until sauce thickens and everything is coated, about 2–3 minutes.
Serve hot over rice or noodles.
