A quick, savory skillet meal of ground beef and sautéed cabbage with garlic, onion, and simple seasoning — hearty and ready in under 30 minutes.
1 lb ground beef (85–90% lean)
1 small green cabbage, chopped (about 6 cups)
1 medium onion, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp tomato paste (optional)
1 tbsp soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce
Salt and black pepper to taste
Red pepper flakes (optional)
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper. Drain excess fat and remove beef from pan.
Add olive oil to skillet and sauté onion for 3–4 minutes. Stir in garlic and tomato paste (if using) and cook for 1–2 minutes.
Add chopped cabbage gradually, stirring until wilted. Cover and cook 5–7 minutes until tender.
Return beef to pan. Add soy sauce and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine. Cook 2–3 more minutes.
Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve hot.
