A quick, savory skillet meal of ground beef and sautéed cabbage with garlic, onion, and simple seasoning — hearty and ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (85–90% lean)

  • 1 small green cabbage, chopped (about 6 cups)

  • 1 medium onion, diced

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp tomato paste (optional)

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper. Drain excess fat and remove beef from pan.

  • Add olive oil to skillet and sauté onion for 3–4 minutes. Stir in garlic and tomato paste (if using) and cook for 1–2 minutes.

  • Add chopped cabbage gradually, stirring until wilted. Cover and cook 5–7 minutes until tender.

  • Return beef to pan. Add soy sauce and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine. Cook 2–3 more minutes.

  • Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve hot.
