A quick and flavorful one-pot creamy pesto pasta made with basil, garlic, Parmesan, and cream — perfect for weeknights or entertaining.
12 oz pasta (penne, fusilli, or spaghetti)
1 tbsp olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
3½ cups vegetable or chicken broth
½ cup heavy cream
½ cup basil pesto (store-bought or homemade)
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Optional: 2 cups baby spinach, grilled chicken, or cherry tomatoes
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium. Sauté garlic until fragrant (30 seconds).
Add pasta and broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce to simmer. Cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring often.
When pasta is al dente and liquid mostly absorbed, reduce heat to low.
Stir in cream and pesto. Simmer 2–3 minutes.
Add Parmesan, stir until smooth. Season to taste.
Fold in spinach or chicken if using. Serve hot.
