Sticky Orange Sesame Chicken Stir Fry is a quick, delicious dish with crispy chicken, a citrus-soy glaze, and crisp vegetables. Perfect over rice or noodles for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

1 lb chicken thighs or breasts, chopped
2 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp oil, plus more as needed
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 cup snap peas
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp grated fresh ginger
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
1/2 cup orange juice
1 tsp orange zest
3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  • Coat chicken with cornstarch, salt, and pepper.

  • Mix orange juice, zest, soy sauce, honey, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and pepper flakes.

  • Sear chicken in a hot pan until browned and cooked. Remove.

  • Stir fry vegetables until just tender.

  • Pour in sauce and simmer to thicken slightly.

  • Return chicken and toss everything in the sauce.

  • Add sesame oil, seeds, and green onions.

  • Serve hot over your choice of base.
