A layered dessert combining fresh strawberries, creamy mascarpone, and a soft cake base, perfect for summer gatherings or special occasions.

Ingredients

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 ounces mascarpone cheese
1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
810 ladyfingers or 1/2 pound sponge cake, cut into small pieces
2 tablespoons strawberry jam (optional)
Fresh mint leaves, for garnish

Instructions

1. Hull and slice strawberries, mix with sugar and lemon juice, let rest 15–20 minutes.
2. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
3. Fold in mascarpone and optional almond extract gently.
4. Arrange ladyfingers or sponge cake in serving dish, brushing with jam or juice if desired.
5. Layer half the strawberries and half the cream mixture.
6. Repeat with remaining strawberries and cream, smoothing top layer.
7. Chill at least 2 hours.
8. Garnish with mint leaves and strawberry slices before serving.
9. Slice carefully to preserve layers.
