Crispy, cinnamon-spiced waffle donuts filled with tender apples and topped with a sweet vanilla glaze — the perfect easy apple dessert with cozy fall flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter (for sautéing)

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (for apples)

  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon (for apples)

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • Pinch of nutmeg

  • 2 eggs

  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar

  • ¼ cup brown sugar

  • ¾ cup milk

  • ¼ cup melted butter

  • 1½ tsp vanilla extract

Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 12 tbsp milk

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a skillet, cook diced apples with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until soft. Let cool.

  • In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

  • In another bowl, whisk eggs, both sugars, milk, melted butter, and vanilla.

  • Combine wet and dry ingredients. Fold in the apple mixture.

  • Preheat and grease waffle iron. Spoon batter into sections.

  • Cook for 3–5 minutes until golden. Let cool slightly.

  • Whisk glaze ingredients. Dip or drizzle over donuts.

  • Let glaze set before serving.
