Tender Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs cooked in a skillet and coated in a glossy sweet and savory garlic sauce.
6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger optional
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon cold water
Pat chicken thighs dry and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Place chicken skin-side down and cook for 6 to 8 minutes until golden and crisp.
Turn and cook for another 5 minutes.
Mix honey, soy sauce, garlic, vinegar, and ginger if using.
Reduce heat and pour sauce into the skillet.
Simmer for 8 to 10 minutes until chicken reaches 165°F.
Stir cornstarch mixed with cold water into the skillet.
Cook briefly until the sauce thickens.
Remove from heat and allow to rest before serving.
